Our Program

A Typical Day

  • Arrival/Sign-in Time - strategies to transition from home to school 

  • Opening and Closing Circle - planning and review times that help create a sense of community

  • Small Group Activity - Children can experiment, explore, and use materials to make connections

  • Large Group Activity including music and movement - Promotes listening, creative expression, gross motor development, and language skills

  • Story and quiet time

  • Snack/lunch - Children learn social, communication, and self-help skills

  • Centers-Dramatic play/housekeeping, building/construction, writing, art,  quiet reading/story time, tabletop activities, science, tactile table, etc.

  • Outdoor time/Recess - playground, nature trails, and picnic areas are available to build small and large muscles as well as develop social skills and problem-solving skills

  • Cleanup time - Students support the classroom community, learn responsibility, and become self-sufficient

  • Group bathroom breaks - Children learn self-help skills and healthy behavior

Additional Activities

  • Discovery on Tuesday (DOT) -  STEAM ThankT(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) based enrichment activities for students that incorporate movement and the fundamentals of early learning   

  • Pre Literacy Library and Reading Programs for PreK classes

  • “Handwriting Without Tears” (4 Day/5 Day PreK Class)

  • Chapel (2-3 times per month) - The love of God and the teachings of Jesus are shared with students and families through story, song, and prayer

  • Music Fridays

  • Community Service Programs - Sandwich making, food and clothing collections, etc.

  • Special events: Lessons are enhanced by musicians, puppeteers, magicians, storytellers, and local community helpers (dentists, firefighters, police officers, etc.)

  • Holiday Celebrations- Birthdays, Pumpkin and Egg Hunts, Thanksgiving, Valentine's exchange

  • Family inclusive events - Christmas Program performed by students, Open House, dad's night, muffins with moms, year-end celebration
